Dining at The Masters Lodge is a delightful and memorable experience!

Quality and creativity within the Progressive New Zealand style is the focus of our
Chef Lisa Frater who takes pride in tempting your palate with a light and innovative menu blending the freshest local produce with our unique island flavours. Progressive New Zealand cuisine is one of innovation, artistry and integrity, drawing on influences from Asia, the Pacific Islands and traditional European cuisine to derive complete sensory satisfaction in every dish.

Dine in the elegance of the Master’s Dining Room, or alfresco on the Verandah, shaded by camellia, punga and palm trees, and caressed by the ocean breeze. Subtle music reinforces the tropical flavours and cultural blend that is Art Deco. To complement your dinner our Wine Cellar features a select range of rare and internationally acclaimed New Zealand wines. We also offer a boutique selection of Cuban Cigars for your after-dinner enjoyment on the Verandah.

Whenever possible, our produce, seafood and meat come from local farms and ranches that practice ecologically sound agriculture, and we use only the freshest ingredients acquired daily. Consequently, please make your dinner reservations at least 24 hours in advance.

Let us know prior to arrival if you have any special preferences so we can tailor the menu to suit you. Also, please advise us of any dietary restrictions or other requirements at least 24 hours in advance.

It is our intention to give you a premier dining experience during your stay with us. Menus change nightly based on the freshest ingredients available each day.

Dinner at The Masters Lodge is a personalized experience apropos of a special occasion. Larry and Joan Blume have retained the services of one of the finest chefs in New Zealand to prepare a memorable, custom-designed feast.
Entrées range from juicy steaks to traditional tenderloins, venison, crayfish and other seafood, as well as heron, pheasant and succulent black swan. Using the freshest local ingredients, the chef’s creations highlight intriguing combinations of flavors.
The Blumes consult with the chef to recommend the perfect Hawke’s Bay wines to accompany the meal. Larry, who waited tables to pay his way through law school, provides exquisite service.
